A child in Amran province was severely injured, Tuesday, by an internationally banned cluster bomb dropped by the Saudi-led coalition.

The victim is a resident of Al-Amshia region located in Harf Sufyan district and was hit by shrapnel after the unexpected explosion of the remanent explosive device.

The prohibited weapon was used among other US-backed Saudi airstrikes bombarding the region, local source reported.

Moreover, it forced the little girl into confronting an amputation operation of one of her legs while the other remains sustained of considerable wounds.

Cluster bombs are a type of explosive devices which scatter into numerous submunitions (bomblets) over an area. Some can function as mins later on if unexploded.
