The federal government is providing humanitarian groups working in Yemen with $12.1 million in additional funding to help them respond to the growing humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

This new funding will be allocated to the World Food Programme (WFP), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) – Yemen Humanitarian Pooled Fund, International Development Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau announced Friday.

“Sadly, aggression continues on Yemen, and its people—particularly women and children—continue to suffer greatly,” Bibeau said in a statement. “Canada remains committed to providing life-saving humanitarian assistance support to our partners to help the Yemeni people.”
