Painful Suffering of Yemenis Living in Hodeidah

President of the International Rescue Committee(IRC), David Miliband on Tuesday, said that the situation in the city of Hodeidah is painful and the tragedy today is the suffering of Yemenis living in these difficult circumstances.

This came during his meeting with the acting governor of Hodeidah province Mohammad Ayyash Qahom with the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Lize Grande.

David Miliband said that the aim of his visit to the province is to listen to the real stories of people, whether politicians or citizens, in order to, to prepare a dossier about what we have heard and saw in Yemen to inform the world about their tragedy.

He expressed concerns over the deteriorating situation in the province.

“We have warned the United Nations of the humanitarian consequences of this war,” he added.

He stressed that the International Rescue Committee will continue its work in delivering humanitarian services and telling the whole world about what is going on in Yemen.
