The Canadian Organization for Peace organized a political seminar on the war against Yemen in the Canadian city of Vancouver. The seminar included the participation of a number of international human rights organizations.

“We gather here today to expose crimes committed by the Saudi regime and expose its western supporters, particularly accusing the United States and Britain”, organizers said.

The seminar’s participants revealed the aspect of critical human suffering in Yemen based on reports from international organizations. The reports spoke about the intransigence of the Saudi-led coalition in letting in humanitarian relief vessels to the port of Hodeidah. Activists also spoke against the Saudi killing and destruction campaigns, Yemeni Almasirah channel reported.

They also stressed the illegitimacy of the unjust war against Yemen because the countries of coalition did not get the approval of the United Nations or the Security Council. In addition, the ousted Saudi-backed president they are trying to restore, Hadi, had actually lost legitimacy from a legal point of view. The 10-countries taking part in the coalition against Yemen also attempted to escalate the operations of Al-Qaeda aiming to inflame more internal battles and cause disturbance in the already war-torn country. Frequently, the Yemeni joint military has been detecting hidden weapons by Saudi-paid militias and dismantling explosive devices planted by Al-Qaeda supporters, local source reported to YemenExtra.

At the end of the seminar, lawyers and activists called on western countries to stop all kinds of support to the Saudi regime, which commits war crimes against humanity and causes critical suffering for the almost 30 million people of Yemen.
