On July 30, protestors of all confessions and ethnic backgrounds took to the streets in Washington D.C., marching to the Israeli embassy and demanding an end to the Israeli government’s violent policies against protestors in Jerusalem.

Since the recent escalation between Israeli security forces and Arab protestors in Jerusalem beginning on July 14, demonstrations against the Israeli government’s restrictions on Muslim worshipers entering Al-Aqsa Mosque have been occurring worldwide in solidarity with the Palestinians of Jerusalem.

Today’s demonstration which took place in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington D.C. was perhaps one of the most telling. Hundreds of Muslims gathered to pray besides Christians and were surrounded by Jewish men and women holding up signs opposing the Israeli governments policies.

Due to clashes between Palestinian protestors and Israeli security forces, over 1,300 Palestinians have been injured, putting local hospitals under intense strain. Furthermore, at least 6 Palestinians have been killed.
