The United Nations Resident Representative and her humanitarian coordinator in Yemen, Liz Grande, confirmed that she would work with international organizations to alleviate the suffering of the citizens of Hodeidah province.

“We will not let down the people of Hodeidah or let them suffer because they are the most suffering population in Yemen, and we will continue to work in Hodeidah by expanding our business,” Grande said.

In her meeting on Sunday with the local authority in the province of Hodeidah, she said her visit to the province with representatives of the United Nations organizations in Yemen is a clear confirmation that Hodeidah has not been let down.

“Commercial and humanitarian aid ships will arrive at the port of Hodeidah in the coming days and work will be made to reach the Red Sea Mills for its great importance,” she said.

The UN official confirmed that “the needs of the offices and service institutions in Hodeidah will also be delivered, particularly in the fields  of health, water, electricity, university education and hygiene.”

“At the conference in Geneva at the end of February on Yemen, we will call to provide unprecedented support at the level of the United Nations and the world to Yemen,” Grande said.

Liz Grande watched during the meeting a documentary film of coalition crimes in the province during the past months.
