Clashes Erupt Between Saudi Paid-Militias in Southwest of Taiz

A police chief and three of his companions were killed on Friday afternoon in an exchange of fire with unknown gunmen in Al-Misrakh district, Taiz province, central Yemen.

Local media sources reported that they heard an exchange of fire during the Friday prayers. The director of Najd Department, Muhammad Abdullah Yahya, and three of his companions on one hand and unidentified armed men on the other confronted each other. The clashes ended with the death of the director of the department and his escorts.

This incident comes in the context of conflicts emerging between Saudi paid-militias, whereas the city of Taiz witnessed today noon violent combats between groups working in favor of the Saudi-led coalition. This time it took place between a group affiliated with the so-called Qhazwan Al-Mekhlafi and other groups led by Abu Abbass at Jamal street downtown.

During the clashes, the gunmen used various types of light, medium and heavy weapons, including a 12.7 mm weapon, which raised a state of fear and panic among the population of the city of Taiz.

Furthermore, an armed group launched an attack on another group under the command of the so-called Abu Abbass in the Tahrir assfal area. The attack resulted in taking the life of a citizen on a motorcycle being around the scene.
