Israeli police have prohibited people from getting into the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds for the second straight day, Maan News Agency reported Saturday.

This move by the Israeli police forces comes just 24 hours after three Palestinians opened fire on two officers near the Al-Aqsa Mosque, killing both of the men and sacrificing their own lives in a way to display resistance against the Israeli occupation of their homeland, Palestine.

The Muslim call for prayer (Adhadn) has not been recited in the holy compound since Friday, the sources added.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque has never been closed off to the public since late 2000, when violence broke-out between Palestinians and Israelis in Al-Quds.
