If you are thinking of plumping for a new iPad sometime soon, you might want to hold off for a couple of weeks.

Apple is hard at work on new iPads, according to the latest whispers from inside the secretive Cupertino company.

French blog Consomac unearthed filings for two new iPad models with the Eurasian Economic Commission database.

Unfortunately, the official entry doesn’t reveal any details about the hardware itself.

However, it does contain two model identifiers, A1893 and A1954.

In the past, when Apple has filed with official bodies, like the Eurasian Economic Commission database, the US company has unveiled products soon thereafter.

As Mashable reports, it’s very likely we will see new iPad hardware drop in March.

This would also tally with previous release schedules.

Apple took the wraps off its £339 9.7-inch iPad, which replaced the iPad Air 2 before it, in March last year.

Apple will likely update this tablet, as well as the iPad Mini 4, which remains in the line-up but is starting to get a little long in the tooth.

The California-based company is purportedly working on an update to its iPad Pro line-up which will see its facial recognition technology, Face ID, introduced into the range.

This will enable Apple to drop the physical Home Button, with its embedded Touch ID fingerprint scanner, from the front of the iPad Pro and eliminate the bezels around the display, like it did with the iPhone X.
