Dr. Al-Mutawakel stressed in a call for relief, which he launched during his meeting today with a number of kidney transplanters, that the health of patients is poor and will be subject to complications that may lead to death at any moment due to lack of medicines.

He called on the United Nations, international organizations and donors to respond to this call for the provision of medicines to patients with kidney transplants.

Al-Mutawakel pointed to the suffering of the Yemeni people and patients in particular as a result of the continued Saudi-led war and siege.

He pointed out that the closure of Sana’a International Airport prevented the travel of hundreds who need a kidney transplant.

The Minister of Health renewed his demand for the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to compel the Saudi-led coalition into lifting the sea, air and land ports in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, which are going through the worst man-made humanitarian tragedy in the world.
