Quoted from the official Saba News Agency, the Governor of Ibb, Abdul Wahed Salah, discussed on Friday with Deputy Director of the OCHA Office in Yemen the humanitarian interventions of OCHA in the province to support the displaced and affected by the current situation in the country.

The meeting reviewed the humanitarian work which carried out by the OCHA in sheltering the displaced people of Hodeidah.

The deputy director of the OCHA office explained the current work plan and the humanitarian projects that will be implemented to alleviate the suffering of displaced and affected people, expressing appreciation for the facilities provided by the local authority leadership in the maintenance of humanitarian projects which comes within the emergency response program for the displaced people of Hodeidah.

The OCHA official said that the total number of families registered and restricted from Hodeidah IDPs to Ibb over the past two weeks was 1,100 families and the OCHA provided accommodation for more than 700 families.

In the meeting, Salah called on the OCHA and international organizations, working in the humanitarian fields, to support the displaced and the affected people and to expand its services and projects in various areas of housing, food and health.

Salah pointed out that Ibb bears the burdens of more than one million displaced persons and what is provided to the displaced and affected people does not cover their needs and their necessary requirements, stressing that Ibb will remain a province of peace and security so displaced people move to it.

The governor of Ibb stressed on the readiness of the local authority leadership to provide facilities and overcome the difficulties in front of any humanitarian and relief work for the displaced and the affected persons.
