Starving Gaza: A Zionist Tool of Extermination and a Deadly International Silence Threatening Thousands of Children
In a crime that tramples every standard of human decency, the Zionist enemy is weaponizing starvation as a tool of genocide against the people of the Gaza Strip—within a layered war aimed at erasing Palestinians, their children, and their future, under the world’s deadly, complicit silence.
As airstrikes, massacres, and violations continue since October 2023, the occupier writes new chapters of terror through a suffocating food blockade that has deprived Gazans of food, medicine, and water and imposed crippling restrictions on aid entry—producing a silent massacre that grows uglier by the day, with children paying first and most.
197 Martyred by Hunger—Including 96 Children
According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, deaths from malnutrition since the start of the genocide have reached 197, including 96 children and 101 adults—a terrifying figure that reflects the layered nature of the crime being committed against civilians.
The data show a grim upward curve: 4 hunger-related deaths in 2023, 50 in 2024, then a shocking jump to 143 deaths in just the past months of 2025—a 35-fold increase compared to 2023.
The office stresses these numbers do not capture the full catastrophe, given the collapse of the health system, the difficulty of documentation, and the inability to track all affected cases amid ongoing bombardment and total siege.
Hunger Is Reaping Gaza’s Children in Silence
Adding to the tragedy, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported 4 new deaths within just 24 hours, including two children, raising the total number of martyrs due to hunger and malnutrition to 201, most of them children.
Hospitals across the Strip face a total collapse in therapeutic nutrition services: medicines and vitamins have run out, and there is no therapeutic food for children and infants—meaning any case of severe acute malnutrition can quickly become life-threatening.
United Nations: 12,000 Children Suffering Acute Malnutrition
U.N. agencies have issued stark warnings. The United Nations announced that acute malnutrition among Gaza’s children has reached the highest level ever recorded.
U.N. spokesperson Farhan Haq said that in July alone, more than 136,000 children were screened; 12,000 were found to have acute malnutrition, including 2,500 at imminent risk of death.
He added that these figures represent an 18% increase compared to June, attributing the rise to occupation-imposed restrictions on aid and the failure to deliver food to children in need—with aid reaching only 3% of children under five despite the desperate need.
WHO: 99 Deaths from Hunger Since Start of 2025
The World Health Organization reported that 99 Palestinians, including 29 children under five, have died from hunger and malnutrition since the start of 2025, warning the real numbers are likely much higher due to the inability to access many devastated areas.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom said Palestinians are being deliberately starved under a crushing siege that has lasted for years, noting that what is happening in Gaza today is the peak of the catastrophe. “People are not only dying of hunger,” he said, “they are being killed while searching for food.”
He pointed out that 1,600 Palestinians have been killed since May alone while attempting to collect food from distribution points, and 12,000 more have been injured due to stampedes or the deliberate bombing of civilian gatherings.
Hospitals Are Dying—Mass Death Is Near
WHO confirmed that the remaining hospitals in Gaza are completely overwhelmed and face acute shortages of essential medical supplies, with over 14,800 patients needing urgent care that cannot be provided due to the siege and infrastructure collapse.
Though some aid trucks have entered, what has arrived since June amounts to only a fraction of actual needs—portending a comprehensive humanitarian disaster threatening hundreds of thousands of children, the wounded, and the sick.
Moroccan Doctors’ Hunger Strike: Free People Raising Their Voices
In a principled act of solidarity, hundreds of doctors in Morocco staged a one-day hunger strike to protest the starvation policy imposed on Gaza and to stand with Palestinian medical teams working in catastrophic conditions.
Called by the “Doctors for Palestine” coordination, the strike carried a clear message: the world’s silence over Gaza’s extermination is a crime of its own, and those with a conscience—especially physicians—must speak out and side with the oppressed everywhere.
Aid from the Sky: “Food Bombs” That Endanger Lives
In a painful first, Gaza’s Civil Defense warned that air-dropped aid has become a deadly hazard: parcels are falling on people’s heads in crowded areas, causing injuries and deaths, in addition to stampedes and chaos that create further victims.
Civil Defense urged international organizations to adopt safe, organized methods for aid delivery via land crossings and in coordination with field authorities in the Strip, warning that continued chaos in distribution will increase casualties instead of saving lives.
Starvation as a Zionist Weapon of Extermination
It is clear the occupier is using hunger as a weapon more lethal than missiles—a weapon that makes no sound but kills slowly, targeting children and infants in a systematic crime intended to empty the land of its people without a bullet.
Between relentless bombardment and engineered famine—and amid international complicity and official Arab abdication—free people across the world, from Yemen to Morocco and beyond, continue to expose the crime and reject silence.
There Is No Choice but to Break the Siege
This is no longer merely an aid operation; it is a battle over existence, dignity, and humanity. Gaza is a litmus test for the world’s ethics—and a damning indictment of a complicit international order.
There is no way out except through:
-
Breaking the siege completely
-
Opening the crossings permanently and safely
-
Holding the Zionist occupier accountable as a war criminal
-
Supporting the resistance by all means to break the hand choking Gaza and starving its children
Gaza is dying in silence under the occupier’s siege. Will this systematic starvation of its children finally awaken the conscience of the world’s free?
