Yemen at the Heart of the Ummah’s Struggle: The Revolutionary Leader Calls for a Million-Strong Rally in Support of Gaza and Renewal of the September 21 Revolution

The Revolutionary Leader, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, renewed today (Thursday) his call for the Yemeni people to take to the streets in a massive, million-strong demonstration tomorrow, Friday, in the capital Sana’a and across other provinces. The call underscores Yemen’s continued position at the forefront of the Ummah in supporting the Palestinian people and backing the fighters in Gaza in their historic battle against the Zionist enemy and its patrons in Washington and London.

Yemen: A Leading Presence in the Front of Support

In his speech, Sayyid al-Houthi emphasized that mass mobilization is a “duty of honor, faith, humanity, and morality” in the face of the great crime—the crime of the century—being committed by the Zionist entity against Gaza. He affirmed that the Yemeni people’s ongoing movement is a living embodiment of the Prophet’s words: “Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni.” Those who submit to Zionism or accept American enslavement, he stressed, possess neither faith, wisdom, nor dignity.

This call builds on Yemen’s unprecedented record of popular and military solidarity. Weekly marches, rallies, and military operations in support of Gaza have become a defining hallmark of Yemen. Just last Friday alone, over 1,375 demonstrations and rallies were held across the country, in addition to maneuvers and university and religious activities that multiplied the momentum of public action.

The September 21 Revolution: Liberation from Tutelage and Building a Resistance Stance

This honorable Yemeni stance would not have been possible without the September 21 Revolution, which freed the nation’s decision-making from the tutelage of American and Gulf embassies and toppled decades-long projects of dependency and subjugation.

Thanks to this blessed revolution, Yemen transformed from a weak, besieged arena of foreign domination into a stronghold of faith, choosing to be not only part of the Resistance Axis but at its forefront—facing America, Israel, and their allies.

The revolution restored to the Yemeni people their independent identity and sovereign decision. This shift enabled them to move from the position of spectators to active players in the Ummah’s great battle—whether through massive popular mobilization or through naval and aerial military operations that inflicted strategic losses on the enemy and provided unprecedented practical support to Gaza and the Palestinian people.

The Yemeni People: A Unique Model in an Era of Arab Defeat

What distinguishes Yemen’s stance is that it has not stopped at slogans. It has combined word and deed—million-strong demonstrations alongside precise military operations.

Yemen, once meant to remain a subordinate of Riyadh and Washington, broke free from dependency and now leads the battle in the Red Sea and international waterways—imposing a real blockade on the Zionist entity and proving that supporting the oppressed is not a slogan but a daily practice and a strategic position.

Scholars and Universities: An Advanced Front of Awareness

Sayyid al-Houthi also highlighted the intellectual and scholarly momentum accompanying the popular stance. He pointed to the annual conference of Yemeni scholars, which issued a strong and influential statement, stressing that the scholars of the Ummah must follow the example of Yemen’s scholars in assuming responsibility.

He further praised the unprecedented scale of university and student activities in Yemen—unique across the Islamic world—stating that “the academic and university voice in Yemen is the only one that truly reflects the Ummah’s awareness and dignity.”

Toward Another Million-Man Friday

The Leader’s call for a massive Friday rally tomorrow thus comes within the context of this accumulated, distinctive Yemeni presence—to renew the covenant with Palestine and Gaza, and to reaffirm that Yemen, liberated by the September 21 Revolution, will remain loyal to the causes of the Ummah. Yemen will continue to stand present in all arenas, raising the banner of the oppressed against the tyrants of the age: America, the Zionist entity, and their tools.
