The Presidency of the Republic Mourns the Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction and His Companions Who Fell in a Treacherous Zionist Aggression

In a treacherous Zionist attack that struck Yemen’s leadership and people while it was waging its sacred battle alongside the Palestinian people in support of their wronged cause and in solidarity with their brave resistance, the Presidency of the Republic mourned the Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction, the mujahid Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahawi, and several of his ministerial colleagues who rose as martyrs on Thursday afternoon after a treacherous Israeli strike hit a routine workshop the government was holding to evaluate its activity over a year of work.

The Presidency affirmed in an official statement that the martyrdom of this group of national leaders is a continuation of the convoys of martyrs who have given their lives in support of Gaza and Palestine, and a reinforcement of Yemen’s firm and authentic stance against the usurping entity and its masters among the forces of arrogance.

Text of the Presidency of the Republic statement:
In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

“(Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah; among them is he who has fulfilled his vow, and among them is he who awaits; and they did not alter [their commitment] in the least.)” — Allah, the Almighty, has spoken the truth.

In vindication of the plight of the Palestinian people, Yemen waged the battle of the promised conquest and the holy jihad, earned the great honor, and offered convoys of martyrs — heroes of the armed forces and other sons of our great Yemeni people — who carried the banner and pledged to remain steadfast for the truth no matter the cost.

Today, in the midst of the open battle with the Israeli enemy, we announce to our people and our nation a new cohort of great martyrs from national leaders who represent the Yemeni people in all its shades. We declare the martyrdom of the mujahid Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahawi, Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction, together with a number of his ministerial colleagues, after they were targeted by the criminal, treacherous Israeli enemy in a routine workshop being held by the government to evaluate its activities and performance over a year of work. Others were wounded, with injuries ranging from moderate to severe and are under medical care. This occurred on Thursday afternoon, the fifth of Rabi‘ al-Awwal 1447 AH.

We reassure our great Yemeni people and pledge to them that, God willing, the government will continue to perform its duties in a caretaker capacity, that state institutions will continue to provide services to the patient and steadfast Yemeni people, and that nothing — however grave the loss — will affect their functioning. The blood of these great martyrs will be fuel and impetus to continue on the same path.

We affirm to our great people, to the oppressed Palestinian people, to all the peoples of our nation, and to all the free in the world, that we remain steadfast in our sincere position in supporting the people of Gaza, building our armed forces, and developing their capabilities to face all challenges and dangers, as is the stance of our great Yemeni people present in all fields and arenas with resolve, will, and faith.

Indeed we belong to God and to Him we shall return; God is sufficient for us and He is the best disposer of affairs.

Eternity and mercy to the martyrs.
Healing to the wounded.
Freedom to the prisoners.
Honor and victory to our dear people and to all the free of the nation.

Issued by the Presidency of the Yemeni Republic

7 Rabi‘ al-Awwal 1447 AH
30 August 2025 CE

Yemen remains steadfast in its pledge.

The statement emphasized that the blood of the martyrs will only increase Yemen’s firmness and determination to continue on the path until Palestine is liberated and the usurping entity is removed, and it affirmed that state institutions will continue to perform their duties despite the magnitude of the loss, and that the Yemeni people will continue with unbending resolve in the nation’s ranks.

The martyrdom of the prime minister and his companions comes at a pivotal moment in the course of the battle Yemen is waging alongside the Palestinian resistance in support of Gaza and in aid of the oppressed Palestinian people, in direct confrontation with the Zionist entity and its instruments. It embodies the fact that Yemen consciously and sincerely chose to stand with the oppressed no matter the cost and the magnitude of the sacrifices.
