Leader of the Revolution: Yemen’s Mawlid Celebrations Are Unparalleled… Descendants of the Ansar Raise Islam’s Banner Against the Tyrants
The Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, affirmed that the Yemeni people’s observance of the Prophet’s birthday constitutes a unique act of faith unmatched in any other country in the world, noting that this grand commemoration is a living testament to the Prophet’s words, peace and blessings be upon him and his family: “Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni.”
Addressing the masses, the Leader said: “O Yemen of faith, O descendants of the Ansar, O people of love and reverence for the Messenger of God,” while also welcoming the Arab and Islamic communities that joined Yemenis in celebrating this blessed occasion.
He explained that the Yemeni people commemorate this great anniversary each year in gratitude for God’s bounty, in thanks for His favor, and in joy and exultation for the Messenger of Guidance. He stressed that this observance is an expression of faith that thwarts every attempt by enemies to separate the Ummah from its Prophet and exemplar.
The Leader remarked that the Prophet’s birthday in Yemen is not merely a celebration but a renewed spiritual station that enlightens the people and inspires resolve and steadfastness. It transforms into a season of charity and benevolence, and a field for renewing allegiance to the Messenger of God and carrying the banner of Islam.
“The people revive this occasion to achieve their independence founded upon their faith-based identity,” the Leader said, adding that today they bear the banner of Islam with struggle, steadfastness, pride, and devotion — recalling the glories of their ancestors in the early days of Islam when they hoisted the banner of the faith while others withdrew. He affirmed that the descendants of the Ansar are the true continuation of that generation, and that they will remain a support for the oppressed and a bulwark against tyrannical unbelievers and their hypocritical allies.
In his speech, the Leader reiterated that the Mawlid in Yemen is a renewed proclamation of the nation’s attachment to its Prophet, a renewal of the pledge to follow his path and carry his message, and a commitment to confront all enemies of God until God’s promise of victory and empowerment is fulfilled.
