Massive Israeli Escalation on Lebanon: Martyrs, Injuries, and Airstrikes Stretch from Tyre to Aita al-Jabal
In a renewed act of aggression that exposes Israel’s recklessness and contempt for all international laws, Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes Thursday evening on wide areas across southern Lebanon, leaving martyrs and wounded civilians. The escalation marks a dangerous turn, reflecting the occupation’s intent to expand its assault after failing to achieve any military or political gain.
Bloodshed in Tura and Abbassiyeh
According to the National News Agency and field medical sources, Israeli aircraft targeted the area between Tura and Abbassiyeh with more than three consecutive strikes whose echoes shook much of southern Lebanon.
The attacks killed one civilian and injured eight others with varying degrees of wounds, according to an official statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health’s Emergency Operations Center.
Ambulances rushed to the scene amid tragic sights and widespread panic among residents, as Israeli warplanes and drones continued to hover at frighteningly low altitudes over the area.
Scattered Strikes on Tayr Debba, Taybeh, and Aita al-Jabal
In the continuation of the assault, Israeli fighter jets also struck the towns of Tayr Debba, Taybeh, and Aita al-Jabal, targeting homes and civilian structures.
The Israeli military claimed the strikes targeted what it called “Hezbollah infrastructure,” and ordered residents to evacuate their areas—an unmistakable indication that the occupation intends to pursue its longstanding policy of forced displacement and collective intimidation across the region.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces fired machine-gun bursts from the Miskaf Am position toward border villages, violating Lebanese sovereignty yet again. Enemy aircraft also flew at low altitude over southern regions, reaching the skies of Beirut and the southern suburbs, in a blatant display of aggression and power.
Threats Announced, Then Executed
Earlier on Thursday afternoon, an Israeli military spokesperson announced the intention to launch “comprehensive strikes” against alleged Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon, citing so-called “military reconstruction efforts” as a pretext.
However, this justification served merely as political and media cover for a systematic campaign of aggression targeting Lebanon’s civilian infrastructure and deepening the suffering of border communities.
Lebanon Faces Daily Violations
The Israeli occupation continues its daily breaches of Lebanese sovereignty. Since the announcement of the ceasefire agreement in November 2024, more than 5,000 documented violations have occurred, including artillery shelling, air raids, and the constant flight of drones over Lebanese cities and towns.
These ongoing attacks underscore Israel’s intent to impose a coercive “deterrence equation” at a time when the capabilities of the Axis of Resistance are growing stronger—from Yemen to Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon.
Escalation Messages and the Occupation’s Dilemma
Analysts interpret this escalation as a reflection of Israel’s growing confusion and frustration after failing to contain multiple resistance fronts. Through these airstrikes, the occupation seeks to send political and military warning messages to Hezbollah and the entire Resistance Axis, especially amid increased coordination and mutual support between the battlefronts in Gaza, Yemen, and Lebanon.
Yet the renewed bloodshed in Tyre and Abbassiyeh proves that the Israeli regime has learned nothing from its previous defeats—and that every new act of aggression only strengthens the resolve of the Lebanese people to stand firm and resist.
