Hundreds of Swedes Protest in Stockholm Against Israel’s Gaza Ceasefire Violations
Hundreds of people demonstrated today in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, protesting the ongoing attacks by the Israeli entity on the Gaza Strip, in repeated violations of the ceasefire, and denouncing continued Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon.
The protesters gathered at Odenplan Square in Stockholm, organized by several civil society organizations, to condemn the Israeli army’s targeting of Gaza and Lebanon through air raids.
They denounced Israel’s violation of the Gaza ceasefire reached on October 10 to halt the two-year-long Israeli genocide, noting that the entity continues daily breaches of the agreement.
Protesters carried banners reading: “Children are being killed in Gaza,” “Schools and hospitals are being bombed,” “Stop the attack on Lebanon,” and “End the food shortage.”
Participants called for an end to the Israeli entity’s genocide in Gaza and the airstrikes on Lebanon, stressing that Sweden must stop exporting arms to Israel.
With U.S. and European support, the Israeli army has, since October 7, 2023, committed acts of genocide, siege, and starvation in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 69,169 Palestinian civilians—mostly children and women—and injuring 170,685 others, according to non-final figures. Thousands of victims remain under rubble or on the streets, unreachable by rescue and medical teams.
