UNRWA: 12,000 Staff Continue Providing Essential Services to Thousands of Civilians in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed on Wednesday that its teams continue to deliver essential services to thousands of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on Platform “X,” monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the agency stated that “around 12,000 staff members on the ground in Gaza are providing essential services daily to thousands of people.”

It added that these services include “shelter, healthcare, water supply, education for children, as well as psychosocial support and solid waste collection.”

With U.S. and European support, the Israeli occupation army has, since October 7, 2023, committed acts of genocide, siege, and starvation in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of 69,185 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of 170,698 others to date — figures that remain incomplete as thousands of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, unreachable by rescue teams.
