November 17: A Day Etched with Fire and Ruin in the Record of American-Saudi-Emirati War Crimes

Throughout the years of the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression, November 17 has stood as a stark reminder of the mounting hatred and systematic extermination inflicted upon the Yemeni people—land and human alike.

From the cries of fishermen in the Red Sea to the screams of children beneath collapsed homes, from the bombing of roads, farms, and schools to the use of internationally banned cluster munitions, this day reveals bloody pages that underscore both the brutality of the aggression and the unshakable resilience of Yemenis.

These are years of bombardment, siege, and devastation—years that tell the story of a nation facing a global coalition of war, armed only with the consciousness and will of its people.
This report documents the events of November 17 from 2015 to 2022, as crimes that do not expire with time.

2015: Bombardment by Sea and Land — Targeting Fishermen and Livelihoods

One of the deadliest days on the western coast, as six fishermen were killed and five injured when coalition warships struck three fishing boats off the shores of Al-Khokha in Al-Hudaydah—an attack targeting the very livelihood of Yemenis.

In Sana’a governorate, a civilian was killed when an airstrike hit a truck loaded with oranges in Naqil Al-Watadah (Khawlan district). Areas in Al-Tayyal and Al-Arqoub were also bombed, destroying farmland and grazing areas.

In Saada, a woman was injured in Saudi shelling on Ghamr district, while homes in Al-Sheikh (Munabbih) were hit. Airstrikes targeted a water project in Al-Hamzat, farms in Saqayn, and launched seven raids on Al-Souh, Al-Qom’, Al-Far’, and Al-Malil in Kitaf, causing widespread destruction.

In Marib, four airstrikes hit strategic Mount Hilan, along with three strikes on Salb, Maas, and Marfa’ Al-Jawf.

2016: Death by Cluster Bombs and Widespread Destruction

This day saw continued use of internationally banned weapons. A civilian was killed and two injured in raids on Jabal Dhubbab (Bani Hashish district).

In Saada, a child was killed in a strike on a home in Kitaf. A man and two children were injured by a cluster bomb explosion in Al-Sumaik (Razih). Coalition aircraft dropped cluster munitions on Shada and Baqim, extending strikes to Haydan, Al-Dhaher, and border regions.

In Sana’a, the coalition dropped a cluster bomb on the Qatab area in Nihm, destroying farmland.

Attacks continued on Sirwah, while strikes in Al-Jawf targeted Sabrin, Ham, and Al-Batnah, with mercenaries bombing civilian homes.

In Hajjah, Taiz, and Al-Hudaydah, fighter jets targeted bridges, farms, and markets. Two sites in Jizan—Al-Dahrah and Al-Amod—were also struck.

2017: The Abs Massacre and Bloodshed in Khamis Al-Waadhaat

On November 17, 2017, one of the most horrific crimes was committed: 17 civilians were killed when a commercial shop in Al-Jar (Abs district, Hajjah) was bombed—an unforgettable tragedy.

In Al-Hudaydah, six civilians were killed and eight wounded when a bus in Khamis Al-Waadhaat (Al-Zuhrah) was targeted.

Airstrikes hit Al-Khokha and Al-Mawshij, while Apache helicopters attacked the fishing center in Al-Wu’ara.

In Sana’a, a child was injured and homes damaged in Bayt Na’am (Hamdan). Airstrikes also targeted Moza’ and Mafraq Mawiyah in Taiz.

Sirwah was shelled, and more raids struck Al-Sibhan and Jabal Sha’eer (Baqim), alongside heavy Saudi bombardment on Ghamr and border regions.

2018: Escalation in the Western Coastline and Saada

Mercenary forces shelled densely populated neighborhoods in Al-Durayhimi and Kilo 16, targeting civilian homes, as well as 7-July neighborhood and areas east of Al-Aqad.

In Saada, two airstrikes hit Al-Alaf (Sahar district), followed by seven raids on Al-Qad and Al-Azhoor in Razih. Border areas in Shada were heavily bombarded with artillery and rockets.

2019: Continued Bombardment on Al-Tuhaita and Al-Durayhimi

A woman was injured by sniper fire in Al-Maslub (Al-Tuhaita), and another civilian was wounded by shell fragments in Al-Jabaliya.

Mercenaries shelled farms south of Al-Tuhaita and in Al-Jirbah Al-Sufla (Al-Durayhimi), establishing new military fortifications in Kilo 16.

In Saada, airstrikes hit Ras Isa, Al-Salif, Takhyah, and other border regions.

2020: Heavy Airstrikes on Marib and Escalation on the Western Coast

Fourteen airstrikes targeted Medghal, with additional strikes on Sirwah, Majzar, Khab, Al-Sha’af, and Al-Jawf.

In Al-Hudaydah, spy aircraft launched ten strikes on Al-Jah and Al-Jabaliya, while mercenaries shelled residential and agricultural areas.

In Saada, two raids targeted Baqim, and aircraft struck Al-Sharafah near Najran with five raids.
