UNRWA: Gaza faces winter without shelter; We need green light to deliver aid

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated on Monday that winter has arrived in the Gaza Strip, leaving displaced people exposed and without protection amidst the devastation after heavy rains destroyed what little shelter they had left.

UNRWA reiterated, in a post on its social media platform monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that it has shelter supplies ready in its warehouses in Jordan and Egypt but needs only the green light to deliver them to Gaza.

It added: “Our 12,000 Palestinian colleagues have not stopped working; they continue to provide healthcare, psychosocial support, water, sanitation, and other essential services daily throughout Gaza.”

The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect on October 10, after a two-year-long Zionist war of genocide. However, the Israeli enemy army is committing daily violations of the agreement and is still preventing the entry of most humanitarian aid into the Strip, especially aid that comes through UNRWA.
