Gaza Faces Genocide: Rising Toll of Zionist Aggression and a Deepening Humanitarian Catastrophe for the Displaced and Prisoners
Despite more than twenty-six days having passed since the ceasefire agreement, the Zionist enemy continues its open-ended aggression on the Gaza Strip through ongoing bombardment, demolition of homes, targeting of civilians, and depriving displaced families and detainees of the bare minimum of humanitarian rights. Massacres have not stopped, violations are expanding, and the blockade is tightening—leaving Gaza trapped in a multilayered catastrophe that transcends geography and time, while the world stands helpless before a people facing extermination under the label of a “truce.”
New Martyrs in Shuja’iyya Amid the Continuation of the Killing Machine
Four Palestinians were martyred on Monday in a series of attacks launched by Israeli forces in eastern Gaza, including three civilians in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, in addition to one person killed when an Israeli “quad-copter” drone targeted a group of civilians.
Israeli forces continue artillery and aerial bombardment and home demolitions in eastern Khan Younis, Gaza City, and al-Bureij—repeated violations of the ceasefire that came into effect on October 10.
According to the Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs since the start of the truce has risen to 266, with 635 injuries and 548 bodies recovered. Meanwhile, the total toll of the full-scale aggression since October 2023 has reached 69,483 martyrs and more than 170,706 injuries.
Escalating Zionist Attacks: Airstrikes, Demolitions, and Direct Targeting of Civilians
Israeli forces renewed artillery shelling and heavy gunfire east of Khan Younis, alongside three airstrikes on the city and fresh demolitions of Palestinian homes in eastern Gaza.
In the northern Strip, civil defense reported the martyrdom of one citizen and injuries to others in an Israeli strike on the al-Sha‘f area in al-Tuffah neighborhood.
Field data confirm that the enemy is not showing any real commitment to the agreement but is instead using the truce as cover to continue its “pressure by fire” strategy—sustaining killing, destruction, and economic strangulation.
Prison Violations: Deaths, Torture, and Enforced Disappearances
Human rights groups working inside the Israeli entity—alongside an investigative report by The Guardian—have revealed grave violations committed by occupation authorities against Palestinian detainees. At least 98 prisoners have died in Israeli prisons and detention centers since October 2023, with estimates suggesting the real number is “much higher.”
Physicians for Human Rights reported documenting an additional 35 deaths, based on medical reports and testimonies from lawyers and released detainees. Witness accounts describe torture, abuse, enforced disappearance, and denial of family contact—while occupation authorities respond to detainee deaths with total denial and secrecy.
Abdullah al-Zughari, head of the Palestinian Prisoners Club, confirmed that Israel’s acknowledgment of 98 martyrs indicates the true figure exceeds one hundred, pointing to cases of direct killing before arrest, withholding the bodies of martyrs, and denying families the right to bury them.
Targeting the Press: 26 Journalists Behind Bars
The Palestinian Center for the Protection of Journalists warned of escalating violations against journalists in Israeli prisons. Israeli forces continue to detain 26 journalists, including three who have been forcibly disappeared since October 2023.
The organization stated that these violations constitute “crimes against humanity” under international law and the Geneva Conventions, urging the United Nations and the International Federation of Journalists to intervene urgently.
Shelter Catastrophe: Tens of Thousands Facing Winter Without Protection
The Government Media Office in Gaza confirmed that the Strip is experiencing the worst humanitarian disaster since the start of the genocide. Some 288,000 displaced Palestinian families are living without safe shelter after heavy rains swept away tens of thousands of tents.
The statement noted that Israel is blocking the entry of 300,000 tents and essential shelter materials, including blankets, insulation supplies, heating equipment, flooring, and sanitation facilities—despite its signature on the humanitarian protocol annexed to the ceasefire agreement.
The office urged the world to act immediately to prevent an avoidable winter tragedy, holding Israel fully responsible for the suffering of civilians.
WHO and UNRWA: Urgent Warnings Amid International Paralysis
The World Health Organization called for opening all Gaza crossings to allow the entry of medical supplies, confirming that 72 tons of medicines and equipment have reached al-Arish but are awaiting permits.
UNRWA warned that winter has already begun while displaced families remain without shelt
