Iran Responds to Trump: No Negotiations With Washington… We Will Not Engage With an Aggressive Party
The Islamic Republic of Iran affirmed that no negotiations are taking place with the United States, stressing that Tehran will not sit at the table with an administration that operates through coercion and carries a long history of betrayal and aggression.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated in a press briefing that U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims about ongoing talks with Iran are nothing more than empty political rhetoric, asserting: “There is currently no negotiation process between Iran and the United States.”
Baghaei emphasized that talk of negotiations becomes meaningless when the other party is the same entity that carries out assassinations, imposes sanctions, and prides itself on aggression against Iran and the region.
He added: “Negotiating with a party that does not respect the reciprocal nature of dialogue, violates its commitments, and boasts about killing Iranians is neither rational nor logical.”
The spokesperson noted that Washington’s dark record of withdrawing from agreements and imposing sanctions renders any discussion of negotiations a mere attempt to mislead public opinion and to mask the pressure resulting from U.S. failures in the region.
In a separate context, Baghaei denied any link between the Iranian President’s message to the Saudi Crown Prince and the latter’s visit to Washington, clarifying that the message pertained solely to Hajj-related coordination, expressing formal thanks for last year’s pilgrimage arrangements and underscoring the need for continued cooperation to ensure a smooth Hajj season this year.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry reiterated Tehran’s clear and unwavering policy:
No negotiations under threat or coercion.
No dialogue with an aggressor.
Free nations—not the United States or its regional instruments—are the ones who set the equations.
