Violations Continue and Casualties Rise: Gaza Faces a Deepening Humanitarian Catastrophe as the Death Toll Surpasses 69,000

Despite an announced ceasefire, the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip continues unabated. More than a month after the ceasefire agreement, the outlines of an ongoing, multilayered crime against unarmed civilians have become increasingly clear. Casualty numbers continue to rise, daily violations and field killings persist, and humanitarian conditions are deteriorating at unprecedented levels—especially with the onset of winter, which threatens the lives of hundreds of thousands of displaced people.

Escalating Toll: Numbers Beyond the Limits of Catastrophe

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll of the genocide has risen to 69,513 martyrs and 170,745 injuries since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023.

In the past 48 hours alone, hospitals received 7 martyrs and 33 injuries, while rescue teams recovered the bodies of two martyrs from beneath the rubble.

Since the ceasefire began on October 10, the ministry has documented:

280 martyrs

672 injuries

571 bodies recovered from destroyed areas

These figures highlight the daily Israeli violations of the agreement and disregard for international law.

The ministry also warns that many bodies remain under the rubble or in the streets, as rescue teams are unable to reach them due to continuous attacks and lack of equipment.

Killings Persist: Daily Assassinations Despite the Ceasefire

Despite the truce, Israeli forces continue firing on Palestinians:

A civilian was killed in Qizan an-Najjar south of Khan Younis.

A woman and her child were severely injured after being targeted by a drone in Bani Suhaila.

The Government Media Office documented:

279 martyrs

393 violations since the start of the ceasefire, including:

Direct gunfire

Ground incursions

Air and artillery strikes

Demolition of homes and facilities

These attacks also include strikes on displaced people’s tents and residential areas, in a systematic campaign of collective punishment aimed at destabilizing any chance of recovery.

Crimes Against Detainees: Testimonies Reveal Torture and Killings

In a disturbing revelation, the Prisoners’ Information Office reported that 98 Palestinian detainees have died inside Israeli prisons and detention centers since October 7, 2023, according to a report by Physicians for Human Rights – Israel.

The data shows these detainees were subjected to:

Severe torture

Starvation

Medical neglect

Extrajudicial killings

These practices constitute grave war crimes and clear violations of the Geneva Conventions.

The office warns that the real number is likely higher due to enforced disappearance and information suppression by Israeli authorities.

Ongoing Targeting: Injuries, Collapses, and Arrests at Sea

Civil defense teams reported rescuing two women after a building collapsed in the fishermen’s market west of Gaza, amid continued drone strikes and structural collapses caused by previous bombings.

Meanwhile, Israeli naval forces:

Arrested three fishermen near Gaza’s port after shooting at them

Raising the number of detained fishermen since the truce to 19

A Harsh Winter: Flooded Tents and Children Facing Cold and Spoiled Food

As winter begins, a new tragedy is unfolding.

The World Food Programme confirmed that thousands of families are now facing heavy rains inside flooded tents, with freezing temperatures and severe food shortages. Many displaced people are consuming spoiled food due to the lack of basic supplies.

UNRWA announced:

13,000 families affected by heavy rain

Severe damage to tents and temporary shelters

United Nations figures show:

1 million displaced people living in displacement sites

Over 79,000 displaced individuals sheltering in 85 UNRWA schools and facilities

Between November 10 and 16, four children were killed by Israeli fire despite the ceasefire.

Facing a Prolonged Catastrophe: Israel Defies Agreements as International Law Stands Absent

Field observations confirm that Israel is pursuing a deliberate strategy aimed at:

Continuing daily killings despite the ceasefire

Expanding destruction zones

Escalating attacks on civilians

Conducting field executions and torture

Tightening economic and humanitarian restrictions on Gaza

Obstructing relief efforts

The Government Media Office in Gaza warns that Israel’s ongoing violations threaten to derail all international efforts to maintain calm, while the global community remains unable—or unwilling—to hold Israel accountable or enforce the ceasefire.
