Al-Ahrar Movement: Mediators and Guarantors Face an Urgent Humanitarian Responsibility in Gaza

The Palestinian Al-Ahrar Movement called on Saturday for the mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip to take immediate action to provide relief and shelter for the population, and to compel the Zionist enemy to allow the immediate entry of humanitarian aid, including tents, tarpaulins, caravans, and all necessities required to secure the minimum conditions for a dignified and safe life, amid the severe impact of the recent harsh weather system.

In a press statement, the movement affirmed that the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza is worsening day by day, noting that the worn-out tents sheltering displaced families have turned into pools of water, against the backdrop of a complete collapse of infrastructure destroyed by the Zionist enemy during its ongoing aggression.

The movement added that 14 civilians—most of them children—were martyred as a result of freezing inside tents and the collapse of residential buildings unfit for habitation, to which displaced people had resorted out of necessity due to the severe weather conditions. This scene, it said, reflects the depth of pain and the scale of the humanitarian tragedy endured by the besieged population of Gaza.

Al-Ahrar stressed that the continued prevention of shelter materials and humanitarian aid constitutes an additional crime against civilians, holding the Zionist enemy fully responsible for the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip.

It is worth noting that the Zionist genocide against Gaza, which lasted for two years and ended with a ceasefire agreement on October 10, 2025, resulted in more than 70,000 Palestinian martyrs and approximately 170,000 wounded, the majority of whom were women and children. The United Nations has estimated the cost of reconstructing the Gaza Strip at around USD 70 billion.
