Parliament Condemns the Crime of Insulting the Holy Qur’an by an American Candidate
The Parliament condemned the crime of insulting the Holy Qur’an committed by an American candidate.
In a statement issued today, Parliament strongly denounced the repeated insults and provocative, hostile stances against Islamic symbols and sanctities carried out by the Zionist enemies of the nation, with the support of Western regimes and the U.S. administration.
Parliament further condemned acts of terrorism and extremist hostility toward religious sanctities, which fuel and inflame hate speech among nations and peoples. It called on the parliaments of Arab and Islamic countries, the states and free peoples of the world, and the international community to condemn these disgraceful acts, adopt firm positions against insults to sanctities and religions, and designate states that support insults to Islamic sanctities as sponsors of terrorism.
The statement urged all parties to shoulder their religious and humanitarian responsibility in confronting the tyranny of Zionist–American forces and to counter campaigns of insult against Islamic sanctities by all available means—foremost among them activating political and economic boycott tools against those states and extremist entities.
Parliament also decried the shameful silence and moral failure of international organizations, foremost the United Nations, which criminalize in their charters the denigration of religions and attacks on religious symbols and sanctities, yet take no action against such reprehensible acts.
It called for firm positions against the violations and provocative, hostile practices permitted and protected by the enemies of the nation on their territories against Islam and Muslim sanctities.
Parliament expressed its support for the contents of the statement by the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and called on the Yemeni people to respond to the call for mass mobilization and participation in the major marches scheduled for the day after tomorrow, Friday, in the capital and the governorates—in support of the Holy Qur’an and in affirmation of the steadfast position backing Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and all the peoples of the nation, in the face of enemy schemes and conspiracies aimed at violating their lands and subjugating their peoples, and as an expression of the Yemeni people’s faith-based identity against American and Zionist insults to Islamic sanctities.
Parliament affirmed that this disgraceful act constitutes a blatant provocation and challenge to the sentiments of more than two billion Muslims worldwide, with the potential to trigger reactions that could negatively affect international peace and security. It stressed that such insults will not diminish the stature or greatness of the Holy Qur’an in the hearts of Muslims, as it will remain a source of light and guidance for humanity.
Parliament renewed its call for the enactment of international laws and conventions that criminalize insults to religions and Islamic sanctities.
In a related context, Parliament condemned the organized terrorist attacks carried out by Zionist gangs in several villages in the occupied Arab territories north of Ramallah and in the town of Kifl Haris. These attacks add to a series of crimes committed against the Palestinian people on racist grounds and fall within the framework of organized terrorism perpetrated by Zionist war criminals under the protection of the occupation army, the patronage of an extremist right-wing government, and with American support.
It explained that dozens of Zionists stormed the two towns, set vehicles on fire, and wrote racist, inciteful slogans explicitly calling for killing and displacement, alongside storming and desecrating Islamic shrines by performing Talmudic rituals, spreading terror, destroying property, and throwing stones at Palestinian homes.
Parliament described these hostile violations as a dangerous escalation targeting the Palestinian presence and its right to security and life, constituting terrorist crimes, open incitement to killing and forced cleansing, and a flagrant violation of international resolutions and consensus on the protection of religious sites.
