MP Fadlallah: The sacrifices of the martyrs have preserved Lebanon’s sovereignty, and the resistance continues

MP Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, affirmed that the martyrdom of leaders within the resistance does not hinder the continuation of its path; rather, a new leader raises the banner to carry the journey forward. He stressed the resistance’s readiness for all scenarios, particularly should the enemy attempt to impose its conditions, noting that the resistance would then assume a defensive position.

In remarks to Al-Manar on Thursday, Fadlallah explained that Hezbollah’s top priorities at present are protecting civilians’ lives, safeguarding state sovereignty, and advancing the reconstruction file within available means. Responding to questions about the resistance’s contributions, he emphasized that the “dignity and pride” Lebanon has gained over the past forty years are the “direct result of the resistance’s actions.”

He underscored that the Lebanese people constitute “the most important element of strength for the resistance,” pointing out that the will has not been broken despite the enormous pressures endured in the past. He asserted that “were it not for the sacrifices of the resistance’s youth on the borders during the ‘Uli al-Ba’s’ battle, the enemy would be roaming Lebanese areas today.”

Fadlallah described calls to strip Lebanon of its elements of strength as “an external will translated through internal statements,” noting that certain domestic parties seek to weaken the idea of resistance and bearing arms against Israel in order to “push through a project to align Lebanon with the enemy—something the resistance has thwarted.”

On the electoral front, he said that some internal actors are betting on postponing elections, relying on the siege and Israeli aggression to weaken the resistance’s social base and achieve a political breakthrough.

Addressing the situation south of the Litani River, he clarified that the area is “covered by the existing agreement,” adding that once the Lebanese army completes its tasks there, the issue will become leverage in the hands of the Lebanese state to confront the United States and compel the Israeli enemy to implement the agreement. He called on the Lebanese state to exhaust all available options to halt the ongoing Zionist attacks.

Fadlallah concluded by stressing that the crises that have recently struck Lebanon were not the result of the “support operation,” but rather a direct outcome of the “U.S.–Israeli” policy that followed the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation to pursue regional agendas. He added that current developments in Syria clearly exemplify this plan.
