​Hamas calls for absentee prayers for martyred al-Qassam leaders

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on Thursday the Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic world to perform absentee prayers for the souls of the martyred leaders of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades tomorrow, following Friday prayers.

In a statement seen by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Hamas said the absentee prayers will be held for the following martyred leaders: Muhammad Sinwar, Chief of Staff of the Qassam Brigades (succeeding Muhammad Deif); Muhammad Shabana, commander of the Rafah Brigade; Hakam al-Issa, head of the Weapons and Combat Services Department; Raed Saad, head of the Military Manufacturing Department; and Commander Hudhaifa al-Kahlout, the former spokesperson for the Brigades.

Hamas called on the Palestinian people to perform absentee prayers for the souls of the martyred leaders of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades tomorrow, following Friday prayers.

It urged that the absentee prayer be held in all mosques in Palestine and in all mosques and Islamic centers around the world, stressing that it comes in fulfillment of the struggle and sacrifices of the martyred leaders, and in appreciation of their journey in defending the blessed land of Palestine, at the heart of which are Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
