Hamas: Revoking the Authority to Manage the Ibrahimi Mosque Is a Dangerous Judaization Step
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) warned today that the Israeli occupation authorities’ approval to revoke the authority to manage the Ibrahimi Mosque from the Hebron Municipality and transfer it to the so-called “Israeli Civil Administration” constitutes a dangerous Judaization measure targeting the mosque and the city of Hebron.
In an official statement, Hamas said that the policy of imposing faits accomplis pursued by the occupation will not change the historical and legal reality: the Ibrahimi Mosque is an exclusively Islamic place of worship and an integral part of the Arab and Islamic identity of the city.
The movement added that these measures aim to Judaize the city’s landmarks and erase the mosque’s religious and historical identity, stressing that the occupation’s attempts will not succeed in altering established facts, and that the Palestinian people will continue to protect the mosque and its sanctities.
Hamas further emphasized that all Israeli measures in Jerusalem, Hebron, and other Palestinian cities are part of a systematic plan to impose control over holy sites and erase Islamic and Arab identity, affirming that resistance and national awareness constitute the first line of defense for the holy places.
