Palestinian Groups: Gaza’s humanitarian crisis worsens
Amjad Al-Shawa, head of the Palestinian NGO Network, warned Thursday that Gaza’s humanitarian crisis is worsening amid continued Israeli attacks and restrictions on aid.
He urged the urgent entry of mobile houses (caravans) to shelter Palestinians, noting that tents are no longer safe or sustainable, especially in the harsh winter. About 900,000 Palestinians live in tents after nearly 90% of houses and infrastructure were destroyed.
Al-Shawa stressed that at least 300,000 tents are needed, but floods and damage make them a temporary, inadequate solution.
