Supreme Political Council: U.S. Aggression Against Venezuela Is a Crime and a Flagrant Violation

The Supreme Political Council strongly condemned the criminal U.S. aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, describing the United States’ targeting of the capital, Caracas, and civilian facilities, as well as the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as a grave and unprecedented act of aggression and a blatant violation of national sovereignty and the freedom of the Venezuelan people.

In a statement, the Council affirmed that this aggressive conduct reflects the true nature of U.S. policy, which is based on attacking nations and imposing hegemony by force. It exposes the collapse of all American claims regarding respect for democracy and the rights of peoples, and constitutes a direct threat to all independent states that refuse to submit to external dictates.

The Council declared its full solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, emphasizing its legitimate right to defend its sovereignty, freedom, and independence.

The Supreme Political Council also called on the free people of the world to condemn this dangerous aggression, reject political and military bullying, and oppose the logic of domination and arrogance pursued by U.S. policy—an approach that has come to threaten international security and stability.
