The Democratic Front: Criminal Netanyahu Blackmails Gaza and Obstructs the Rafah Crossing with Transparent Maneuvers

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) on Thursday called on the parties responsible for implementing the Gaza agreement to intervene and put an end to the subordination of the Rafah Crossing to the maneuvers of war criminal Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, and to his exposed ploys.

In a statement, the Democratic Front said: “At times, the criminal Netanyahu proposes the condition of direct ‘Israeli’ participation in the management of the Rafah Crossing under the pretext of preventing the smuggling of weapons into the Strip. At other times, he raises the necessity of banning the entry of what he calls ‘dual-use materials,’ so as to prevent anything that might help Palestinians manufacture weapons.”

It added: “At yet other times, the criminal Netanyahu conditions the opening of the Rafah Crossing on the recovery of the body of the last captive soldier held by the resistance, despite all the efforts exerted by the resistance to search for this body. This comes at a time when some circles do not hesitate to say that the entity has already found the body in areas under its control in the eastern part of the Strip, but is concealing this fact and using the body as a pretext to obstruct the transition to the second phase of the Gaza agreement—while stalling and disrupting the first phase and turning it into a permanent stage—thereby keeping the Strip in a state of destruction and forcing its residents toward ‘voluntary’ migration under the pressure of a blocked political horizon.”

The statement continued: “The Israeli enemy had previously agreed to a specific mechanism for managing the Rafah Crossing in 2005, when its army redeployed from inside the Strip to its periphery. That mechanism proved to be acceptable to a certain extent, and at the time the entity did not complain about its implementation—especially given European participation alongside the Palestinian police.”

It concluded: “Many believe—except for the entity—that this mechanism remains acceptable, yet the enemy obstructs it for no reason other than to sabotage the agreement and manufacture pretexts to perpetuate a gray-zone status quo that allows it to continue its aggressive actions. This requires the guarantor parties to assume their responsibilities and intervene to put an end to these Zionist maneuvers and ploys.”
