The Leader: Qur’anic Identity and the Divine Project Are the Nation’s Shield and Stronghold

The Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, affirmed in a speech marking the annual anniversary of the Martyr of the Qur’an that one of the most dangerous factors enabling enemies to dominate targeted peoples is fragility of identity. He stressed that Islamic identity, at its core, is a great and deeply rooted identity—capable of resilience and of confronting all challenges.

The Leader explained that the culture of the Holy Qur’an is the framework that elevates the nation to a level capable of facing threats, linking it to God Almighty through His guidance, victory, and support. He noted that enemies work systematically to sever the nation’s connection to the Qur’an in order to distance it from God’s assistance and triumph.

He pointed out that the nation is confronting a clearly defined aggressive project led by global Zionism, under banners most notably “Greater Israel” and “Redrawing the Middle East.” He emphasized that this project is documented and openly declared, with Western leaders openly boasting of their affiliation to it, and that it proceeds along an aggressive path posing a grave danger to the Islamic nation.

The Leader clarified that many of the events the nation is subjected to are neither isolated nor incidental, but rather occur within the context of a comprehensive project. However, the prevailing condition in the Arab reality is a fragmented, momentary response to enemy schemes—through marginal positions and formalistic conferences that enemies quickly circumvent—while they continue to achieve dangerous cumulative gains.

He noted that the period after the year 2000 witnessed the Zionist onslaught advancing to a more developed phase, employing multiple pretexts, most notably “counterterrorism.” The greatest danger, he said, lies in the nation remaining without a project, rendering it susceptible to absorption into enemy agendas or consumption by failed projects that neither protect it nor preserve its dignity.

The Leader affirmed that normalization has come within a context aimed at enabling the Israeli enemy to exercise sovereignty and control over the region politically, economically, militarily, and culturally. He pointed out that many Arab and Islamic regimes cooperate with enemies against their own nation, reinforcing enemy dominance and serving their projects.

Moreover, it is a realistic and applicable project that mobilizes the masses and elites alike, keeps pace with developments and events, and retains its effectiveness over time.

The Leader affirmed that the efficacy of the Qur’anic project has been demonstrated in tangible outcomes—through its ability to fortify the nation from within, build its awareness, positions, and loyalties, expose and thwart enemy schemes, and entrench the values of jihad and sacrifice within a faith-based framework that connects the nation to God Almighty.

He stressed that enemies seek to empty the Muslim individual of human and spiritual substance, reducing him to a submissive follower, whereas the Qur’anic project works to immunize the individual against falling into traps of deception and political bargaining.

In conclusion, the Leader emphasized that the proof now stands against the nation, and that the American and Zionist enemy has reached the height of exposure and scandal, despite desperate attempts to mask its crimes and orientations behind deceptive labels. He called upon the nation to recognize the scale of targeting and the gravity of the stage, and to return sincerely to the Qur’an—as a project for life, a position, and a responsibility.
