Red Cross: Humanitarian needs in Gaza remain “Enormous”

The International Committee of the Red Cross said on Sunday that 100 days have passed since the ceasefire in Gaza, yet the humanitarian needs in the Strip remain “enormous” as the daily suffering of the population continues.

The committee noted in a post on the X platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the people of Gaza still urgently need an end to violence, along with urgent humanitarian aid to alleviate the ongoing crisis.

It warned that harsh winter conditions and worsening floods are increasing the difficulty of civilian life, making the struggle for survival more challenging day by day.

With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has committed, over more than two continuous years since October 7, 2023, crimes of genocide, blockade, and starvation in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of 71,548 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 171,353 others, as of yesterday, Saturday, in a non-final toll, as thousands of victims remain under the rubble and on roads, with ambulance and rescue crews unable to reach them.

The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 last year, after a two-year continuous Zionist genocidal war, yet the Israeli enemy army practices daily violations of the agreement and still prevents the entry of the majority of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
