Prisoners’ Media: Ongoing Repression of Palestinian Prisoners in Zionist Prison of Rekafet

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office reported today, Monday, a serious deterioration in the conditions of prisoners in the Rekafet section of Ramla Prison due to the ongoing repression of Palestinian prisoners in the Ramla prison. Repression, direct threats, and an unsanitary underground detention environment rife with dampness and mold, along with intimidation of prisoners during visits and the prevention of news transmission.

In a statement seen by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the office added that the enemy authorities practice arbitrary detention, strict surveillance, and the classification of prisoners as “unlawful” combatants without charges. Visits are monitored, forcing prisoners to communicate through gestures or writing for fear of punishment.

The statement emphasized that the enemy also employs systematic intimidation during prisoner visits, which take place in a clearly intimidating atmosphere. This includes direct warnings from the section officer not to convey messages or “family news,” under the pretext of so-called “enemy security.”

The statement noted that prisoners suffer from harsh living conditions, especially with the extreme cold, the lack of winter clothing, the confiscation of mattresses and blankets during the day, poor food, and a limited half-hour exercise period every other day in a sunless courtyard.

It further explained the spread of scabies and other skin diseases, and the imposition of internal isolation without treatment, in a policy of deliberate neglect.

The statement called for urgent human rights intervention to stop the violations and hold the enemy accountable. Ongoing crimes against prisoners.
