Democratic Front: The Criminal Netanyahu Is Playing with Fire and Beating the Drums of War

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine described, on Wednesday, the statements made yesterday by the head of Zionist fascism and war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court, Benjamin Netanyahu, as an open act of playing with fire and once again beating the drums of war and expanding it against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as against countries in the region.

In a statement, the Democratic Front said that this once again confirms the falseness of criminal Netanyahu’s claimed approval of the Gaza agreement, and that his pretended commitment to UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the twenty-point list is nothing more than an attempt to buy time and bet on the possibility of sabotaging the Gaza plan, in order to return to resuming a war of genocide against the Palestinian people to achieve what he calls “absolute victory.”

The statement added: “Netanyahu does not cease trying to impose his interpretations of the second phase of the Gaza plan through conditions whose first item on the agenda is the disarmament of the Palestinian people—either through Palestinian submission and surrender in the face of Netanyahu’s threats, or by resuming ‘Israel’s’ brutal war.”

It stressed that overwhelming facts have proven the failure of the Zionist entity’s army to achieve this goal, which has now become the central pillar of implementing the Gaza plan according to Netanyahu’s criminal standards.

The Democratic Front mocked Netanyahu’s claim that his army was unable to eliminate the resistance and disarm it due to a lack of sufficient weapons and ammunition, placing the blame on former U.S. President Biden. It said this amounted to an overt gesture of praise toward President Trump and an attempt to flatter his tendency toward arrogance, in addition to being a message requesting more weapons and ammunition in order to complete the disarmament and strip the Gaza Strip of weapons, thereby paving the way for the Gaza agreement as Netanyahu envisions it.

The Front warned of the danger posed by war criminal Netanyahu’s intransigence and his refusal to open the Rafah crossing for the unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza. It also condemned his decision to limit movement at the crossing to allowing departures (on foot) while severely restricting the return of residents, turning the crossing into a gateway for displacement—especially in light of the suffering, harsh living conditions, and deprivation of aid endured by the Palestinian people under extremely severe circumstances.

The statement called for serious attention to Netanyahu’s remarks rejecting withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and his talk of what he calls “Greater Israel,” stretching “from the sea to the river,” in his own words.

It continued: “What Netanyahu says is not merely electoral propaganda; rather, it represents the real plan of Israeli colonial occupation, whose steps we are witnessing clearly in the West Bank—most recently the demolition of more than 25 multi-story residential buildings in Kafr Aqab, on the road to the so-called ‘Jerusalem International Airport,’ to establish a new settlement that reinforces siege measures, tightens restrictions on Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem, and severs them from their Palestinian surroundings.”

The Democratic Front emphasized that Netanyahu’s statements must be taken seriously and not viewed as transient tactical rhetoric, but as the genuine and operative action plan of Israeli colonialism, being implemented gradually and through varied methods.

It concluded that this requires the guarantor parties to articulate a clear position against Netanyahu’s obstruction of the second phase of the Gaza plan. It also requires the Palestinian Authority’s political leadership and the Executive Committee to rise to the level of danger posed by Netanyahu’s policies, to abandon bets on U.S. promises, to free themselves from political illusions, and to stop ignoring what is unfolding in the West Bank and the colonial projects being implemented there—projects that daily threaten the fate of the Palestinian national project and render mere talk about it, amid the plundering of land and water, nothing more than futile chatter.
