Major General Hatami: Iranian Deterrence Is Stronger Than Ever

The Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Amir Hatami, affirmed that Iran’s defensive capability “cannot be eliminated,” noting that “the enemy seeks—through cyberspace and the media, by spreading falsehoods—to undermine national unity.”

Hatami stressed that Iran today enjoys a stronger position and greater capabilities in both the missile domain and air defense compared to the period of the “imposed war,” which lasted 12 days.

He stated that “the enemy must abandon any hope of acting against this country,” emphasizing that “such despair is achieved when we possess a level of power that makes the adversary realize that any aggression would result in severe damage.” He added that achieving this requires unity, cohesion, solidarity, and cooperation from all.

Hatami continued: “We understand that we must build our country, and we know we face tangible challenges. Like other nations, we must address livelihood issues and overcome difficulties. However, these matters are entirely separate from the enemy’s calculations.”

He pointed out that “the country is today confronting a cognitive war, which constitutes a fundamental component of the hybrid war waged by the enemy,” explaining that “the adversary uses cyberspace and the media to create rifts within the ranks of the people.”

Hatami further asserted that “the enemy, through a major falsehood, issued orders to kill and launch attacks against the people, leading to the loss of lives among our youth, adolescents, women, girls, boys, and men—only to return today, with blatant audacity, to level these accusations against the Islamic Republic in the virtual space.”
