From Bombardment to Chemical Warfare: The Israeli Enemy Escalates Its Crimes in Lebanon as Sovereignty Is Violated with Flagrant Breaches
In a grave and systematic escalation, the occupation entity continues to violate Lebanese sovereignty, crossing every red line through a series of brutal attacks that have not been limited to the destructive bombardment of homes and residential neighborhoods, but have extended to a mysterious form of chemical warfare that threatens both land and people.
In a blatant breach of the ceasefire agreement, enemy aircraft carried out airstrikes targeting civilians and their property. UNIFIL forces exposed a new environmental crime, amid legendary steadfastness by residents of the border villages, who affirmed that enemy terror will not break the will of the resistance.
On Monday, Israeli enemy aircraft launched a series of violent airstrikes that directly targeted residential buildings in the towns of Kafr Tebnit and Ain Qana in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region of southern Lebanon. The strikes came only minutes after evacuation warnings were issued, under the familiar pretext of targeting “Hezbollah infrastructure.” The Lebanese National News Agency reported massive destruction to the homes and property of unarmed civilians, preceded by intense and continuous drone flights since early morning in a flagrant violation of Lebanese airspace.
Information revealed that the destroyed building in Kafr Tebnit housed 17 soldiers, including a major in the Lebanese Army, while the building targeted in Ain Qana belonged to a state employee and a member of the municipal council. Residents stressed that this aggression—aimed at pressuring the resistance’s popular base—will not benefit the enemy, but will only strengthen their attachment to their land and rights.
The crimes were not limited to airstrikes. At dawn, a Zionist force infiltrated the town of Aita al-Shaab, booby-trapped and demolished two homes, and enemy artillery shelled the area between al-Salhani and Ramiya in the Bint Jbeil district.
Ongoing Assassinations and Chemical Warfare
Within the context of systematic assassinations and open-ended liquidations, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of one person and the injury of eight others as a result of two treacherous airstrikes that targeted civilian vehicles in Ansariyeh (Sidon district) and al-Qleileh (Tyre district)—a documented crime added to the occupation’s long record of targeting civilians.
In the most dangerous development, United Nations peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) revealed that the occupation army sprayed “unknown chemical substances” over areas near the Blue Line. Despite the enemy’s claim that the substances are non-toxic, UNIFIL stated in an official communiqué that this activity is “unacceptable and in violation of Resolution 1701,” and that it paralyzed its operations for more than nine hours. The international forces expressed serious concern about the impact of these substances on civilian health and agricultural land, suggesting they may be part of a “scorched-earth” strategy aimed at destroying the foundations of life and preventing residents from returning to their villages. The Lebanese Army has begun collecting samples for analysis to determine toxicity levels.
Continued Violations and Breach of Agreements
These attacks come as part of a series of daily Zionist violations of the ceasefire agreement announced on November 27, 2024. UNIFIL has recorded more than 10,000 Zionist violations since then, while the Zionist Alma Research Center reported that the occupation army carried out 87 airstrikes on Lebanon in the past month alone—the highest number since the start of the truce.
As Lebanon continues to call on the international community to compel the enemy entity to implement the terms of the agreement and withdraw from the occupied hills, Hezbollah affirms its commitment to the ceasefire while reserving the right to respond to any aggression.
