Gaza Patients Face Death
While rumors circulate about the “opening of the Rafah crossing,” thousands of sick and wounded Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are living a daily tragedy, as this only gateway becomes a closed door to their hopes for treatment and survival.
While the opening of the crossing is being promoted, 12-year-old Asmaa al-Shawish, who suffers from a rare disease, is confronted with Israeli restrictions that render these claims meaningless, leaving her on long waiting lists that include some 20,000 patients and wounded individuals, all of whom have completed the procedures for their referral for treatment abroad.
