Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office: Prisoner Jarrar Faces Repeated Administrative Detention

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office confirmed today, Tuesday, that prisoner Abdul-Jabbar Muhammad Jarrar (60 years old) from Jenin has been facing repeated administrative detention for over 16 years. The office noted that he is currently serving his third year of administrative detention, having been arrested on February 7, 2014, with the latest extension of his detention for four months following the expiration of the previous order.

In a statement seen the office explained that Jarrar is being held in the Israeli Negev Prison, with indications that he will be transferred to the Shin Bet for interrogation. The statement added that lawyer visits to Jarrar are severely restricted due to mistreatment before and after the visits.
