Jordan Condemns in Strongest Terms Continued Rejected “Israeli” Incursions into Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned on Sunday “in the strongest terms the continued rejected ‘Israeli’ incursions into the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / the Holy Sanctuary, the latest of which was an incursion by a member of the Israeli Knesset,” considering it “a flagrant violation of the existing legal and historical status quo in the Holy Sanctuary and a desecration of its sanctity,” stressing that “‘Israel’ has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.”

The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, affirmed in a statement published by the ministry on its X account and monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), “the Kingdom’s absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the continued rejected incursions by extremist ‘Israeli’ ministers and Knesset members into the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / the Holy Sanctuary, as it is a rejected provocative act aimed at imposing new facts in the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / the Holy Sanctuary and attempting to divide it temporally and spatially,” warning of the consequences of the continuation of these violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Al-Majali called on “the international community to take a firm international stance obligating ‘Israel,’ as the occupying power, to cease its continuous illegal violations and practices against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and its violations of the sanctity of holy places.”

Al-Majali reaffirmed “that the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its entire area of 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Sites, is the legal entity with exclusive competence to manage the affairs of the Holy Sanctuary and regulate entry to it.”

Violations of the sanctity of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli enemy are recurrent through various incursions, including incursions by officials in the enemy government, the latest being a member of the Knesset.
