The Leader extends his congratulations to the Yemeni people and the Islamic nation on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan.

The Leader, Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, extended his warmest congratulations and blessings today, Tuesday, to the dear Muslim people of Yemen, its mujahideen stationed on the front lines, its official institutions, its esteemed scholars, and the entire Islamic nation on the occasion of the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan.

In a statement, a copy of which was received by the Ansar Allah website, the Leader explained that the blessed month of Ramadan is a great gift from God’s mercy, during which He has opened doors of His mercy, grace, and blessings, thus distinguishing it from all other months. He added, “The blessed month of Ramadan is the month in which the Holy Quran was revealed, and a great season for multiplying rewards and blessings, for spiritual growth, and for drawing closer to God Almighty. Blessed are those who seize this opportunity, and congratulations to those whom God has guided to attain these blessings.”

He pointed out that we, as Muslims, are in dire need of consciously benefiting from the blessed month of Ramadan, drawing upon its educational gifts for the purification of souls and the cleansing of hearts, and from its Quranic light for guidance, insight, and awareness. We should also benefit from its blessings by seeking God’s mercy, drawing closer to Him, and striving for the good of this world and the hereafter, and by working to reform ourselves so that our actions may be righteous, leading to a better reality and a better life.

He added that during the blessed month of Ramadan, we are most in need of acquiring its important gains in willpower, patience, and spiritual energy, which help us to fulfill our great and sacred responsibilities of establishing justice, striving in the path of God Almighty, enjoining good and forbidding evil, and striving to present the Islamic civilizational model of stewardship on Earth, in accordance with God’s precious teachings and blessed light. He emphasized the necessity of seizing the opportunity of this blessed month and being wary of wasting time during it, for it is precious and important.

He said: “The dangers and challenges facing our Islamic nation, the threats it faces from the forces of evil, tyranny, and arrogant oppression led by America and Israel, and the suffering endured by our oppressed peoples, especially the oppressed Palestinian people, as a result, should be sufficient motivation for this nation to return to God Almighty, to seek His victory, aid, and support, to be guided by His light and teachings, and to truly seek refuge in Him, so that the nation may receive His mercy and assistance, and so that God may be with it (for God is with the righteous).”

He pointed out that the blessed month of Ramadan is one of the most important seasons for achieving a significant transformation if the nation seizes this opportunity and makes a real difference in its entire reality. He added that it is important during Ramadan to show compassion to the poor and needy and to draw closer to God by being kind to them, as God Almighty says: {And do good; indeed, God loves the doers of good.} (Al-Baqarah 2:195). He also emphasized the importance of strengthening fraternal bonds, social solidarity, maintaining kinship ties, cooperating in righteousness and piety, and being wary of the whispers of Satan, bad companions, and places of distraction and frivolity. He cautioned against wasting the blessed nights of this holy month by indulging in television series, games, and other forms of entertainment, as this is truly a loss and a waste.

The leader, Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, emphasized the importance of reciting the Holy Quran during Ramadan, increasing remembrance of God, and adhering to piety, which leads to the acceptance of good deeds, as God Almighty says: {He says, “Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous.”} (Al-Ma’idah 5:27)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. God Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

{O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.} (Al-Baqarah 2:183)
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

On the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to our dear Yemeni Muslim people, its steadfast fighters on the front lines, its official institutions, its esteemed scholars, and to our entire Islamic nation. I ask God to grant us success in fasting, prayer, and righteous deeds during this month, to help us seize its blessings, to gain piety, to be enlightened by the light of God’s blessed Holy Quran, to seize the Night of Power, and to attain salvation from Hellfire.

The blessed month of Ramadan is a great gift from God’s mercy. He has opened doors of His mercy, grace, and blessings, making it superior to all other months. It is the month in which the Holy Quran was revealed, a great season for multiplying rewards and blessings, for spiritual growth, and for drawing closer to God Almighty. Blessed are those who seize this opportunity, and congratulations to those whom God guides to attain these blessings.

The dangers and challenges facing our Islamic nation, the threats posed by the forces of evil, tyranny, and arrogant oppression led by America and Israel, and the suffering endured by our oppressed peoples, especially the oppressed Palestinian people, should be sufficient motivation for this nation to return to God Almighty, to seek His victory, aid, and support, to be guided by His light and teachings, and to truly seek refuge in Him. Only then will the nation attain His mercy and assistance, and God be with it (for indeed, God is with the righteous).
