February 19th: A Chronicle of Killing and Destruction in the Crimes of Aggression Against Yemen

On this day each year, Yemeni memory is renewed with one of the bloodiest chapters in the record of the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression. Documented facts reveal the extent of the systematic targeting of Yemeni cities and villages, and the widespread destruction wrought by airstrikes, shelling, and the blockade, affecting homes, markets, infrastructure, and the livelihoods of citizens.

February 19th marks a long series of crimes and violations in the record of aggression against Yemen, spanning years of war, confirming the nature of this war, which has targeted people, land, and all aspects of life.

2016: Airstrikes Target Villages, Homes, and Civilian Infrastructure

On February 19, 2016, the aggression’s warplanes escalated their attacks on several governorates, targeting residential areas and civilian property.

In Taiz Governorate, warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on the Azzan area in the city of Dhubab, as well as the areas of Al-Shu’ayra, Hanna, and Al-Zuwaim in Al-Wazi’iyah District, causing significant damage to residential areas and civilian property.

In Sana’a Governorate, enemy aircraft targeted the homes of citizens Ahmed Rabid and Sultan Farhan, as well as a transport truck, in the Baran area of ​​Nihm District, in a clear continuation of the policy of targeting civilian infrastructure.

The aggression’s warships also shelled the coastal village of Al-Nakheel in Ad-Durayhimi District of Hodeidah Governorate, in a military escalation that targeted populated areas along the coastline.

In Ma’rib Governorate, aircraft destroyed the home of citizen Qasim Abdullah Hussein in the Mughayfir area of ​​Majzar District with two airstrikes, while 13 airstrikes targeted various areas in Sirwah District, causing widespread damage to citizens’ farms.

2017… Sniping and Airstrikes Continue
On this day in 2017, crimes against civilians continued, with a woman being killed by sniper fire from the aggression’s mercenaries in the Al-Kadha area of ​​Al-Ma’afir District in Taiz Governorate, in a crime that reflects the nature of the direct targeting of civilians.

The Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched six airstrikes on the Air Force College on 60th Street in the capital, Sana’a, in addition to an airstrike on the Al-Ashra area south of Zatar in the Nihm district of Sana’a Governorate. These attacks caused widespread damage to civilian homes, agricultural lands, and public and private property.

The airstrikes extended to Taiz Governorate with one strike near the Mocha intersection. The coalition also targeted the Mahdida area in Baqim, Sa’dah Governorate, with two airstrikes, coinciding with other airstrikes on locations in Jizan and Najran.

Meanwhile, mercenaries continued their artillery shelling of civilian homes in the Sirwah district of Ma’rib Governorate.

2018: Widespread Escalation and Intensified Airstrikes on Several Governorates

On February 19, 2018, several fronts witnessed a significant escalation. Two civilians were injured and a vehicle was destroyed in an airstrike targeting the main road in the Al Aqab area of ​​the Sahar district in Sa’dah Governorate.

In the border areas, the Saudi army targeted the Al Omar area in the Munabbih district with missile fire, destroying a citizen’s home and killing a number of livestock. They also targeted various areas in the Razih district.

In Hajjah Governorate, the Saudi-led coalition launched more than 20 airstrikes on the Haradh and Midi districts. They also targeted the Mahli area in the Nihm district of Sana’a Governorate with four airstrikes, causing damage to homes and farms.

The coalition warplanes also launched nine airstrikes on the Sirwah district in Ma’rib and five airstrikes on the Al-Shurfa and Al-Sudais sites in Najran.

2019: Targeting of Villages and Hodeidah Airport
On February 19, 2019, the Saudi army continued its missile and artillery bombardment, targeting civilian property in the Baqim district and populated villages in the Munabbih and Razih districts of Sa’dah Governorate. This coincided with three airstrikes on the Baqim district.

In Hodeidah Governorate, the aggression’s mercenaries escalated their shelling, targeting Hodeidah Airport with 16 artillery shells, in addition to firing machine guns at the villages of Za’faran and Mahall al-Sheikh in the Kilo 16 area of ​​Ad-Durayhimi District.

The enemy aircraft also launched two airstrikes on Jabal al-Fas’ah in Kuhlan Sharaf District of Hajjah Governorate, and targeted a citizen’s home in the Adh-Dhahhar area of ​​Qaflah Adhar District in Amran Governorate.

2020: Intense Shelling of Residential Areas in Hodeidah

On February 19, 2020, Hodeidah Governorate witnessed one of the waves of intense escalation, as the mercenaries targeted Hodeidah Airport with medium machine guns and shelled the Adh-Dhubiani neighborhood in the 7th of July residential area with heavy and medium weapons, in addition to conducting intensive sweeps of various areas on 50th Street.

The shelling also affected the village of Ash-Sha’ab and the northwest of Hays District, and the village of Mughari was shelled with 15 artillery shells, while 20 shells were fired at the southeast of Hays.

The shelling extended to the mountainous area of ​​Al-Tuhayta district with 43 artillery shells, in addition to targeting civilian homes in Al-Durayhimi city with more than 25 shells, resulting in two houses being burned and several others damaged.

In the same context, the aggression’s warplanes launched an airstrike on Majzar district in Ma’rib governorate.

2021: Continued Attacks on Borders and Fronts
On February 19, 2021, a civilian was wounded by Saudi border guard fire in the Al Sheikh area of ​​Munabbih border district in Sa’dah governorate.

The aggression’s warplanes also launched three airstrikes on Sirwah district in Ma’rib, while reconnaissance aircraft carried out three raids on Hays district in Hodeidah, coinciding with the mercenaries establishing combat fortifications and shelling several areas with artillery and various weapons.

2022: Civilian Casualties and a Widespread Escalation of Airstrikes

On this day in 2022, eight people, including three African migrants, were killed and wounded by Saudi army fire in the Al-Raqw area of ​​the Munabbih border district in Saada Governorate.

The Saudi-led coalition warplanes also launched airstrikes on several governorates, including Bani Matar in Sana’a, Khabb wa ash-Sha’af in Al-Jawf, Haradh and Midi in Hajjah, and Al-Jubah and Al-Wadi in Ma’rib.

In Al-Hudaydah Governorate, coalition mercenaries established new fortifications and shelled various areas with 39 artillery shells and rockets, in addition to heavy gunfire.
