Tens of Thousands of Palestinian Worshippers Perform Isha, Tarawih Prayers at Al-Aqsa

The Qu Governorate reported that approximately 60,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers on Saturday evening at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, on the fifth night of the blessed month of Ramadan, despite the stringent measures imposed by the Israeli enemy forces.

The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem had announced on Friday evening that about 100,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the restrictions imposed on the entry of worshippers and the prevention of a number of citizens coming from the West Bank from reaching the city, according to the “Sind” News Agency.

During recent weeks, the enemy authorities have escalated their policy of removal orders and arrests, which they describe as “precautionary,” concurrently with tightening restrictions on entering Al-Aqsa Mosque and preventing manifestations of Ramadan receptions in its vicinity.

Specialists in Jerusalem affairs affirm that these measures fall within the context of attempts to impose a new reality inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, affecting the existing historical and legal status quo in the holy city.
