Gaza Under Open Extermination: Death Toll Rises as Occupation Expands Control of the Strip
The tragedy in the Gaza Strip continues unabated despite the declared ceasefire agreement. Daily figures from health authorities and on-the-ground reports reveal that the Zionist aggression has not ceased, but rather has shifted its tactics, ranging from direct targeting of civilians and displaced persons’ camps to continuous military violations and attempts to establish a new reality on the ground by expanding control over vast areas of the Strip.
With each passing day, the death toll rises, while thousands of Palestinians remain buried under rubble or in hard-to-reach areas, a scene that encapsulates the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe endured by Gaza’s residents since the start of the war of extermination in October 2023.
72,000 Martyrs: A Bloody Toll That Remains Unfolding
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Saturday, that the cumulative death toll from the Zionist aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,070 martyrs, in addition to 171,738 wounded with varying degrees of injury.
The Ministry confirmed that these figures do not represent the final toll, as a number of victims remain trapped under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them due to the ongoing bombardment and the dangerous conditions on the ground.
The daily statistical report also indicated that hospitals received one martyr and 10 wounded individuals in the past 24 hours, as a result of renewed attacks targeting displaced persons’ tents in the northern, central, and southern Gaza Strip.
Continued Ceasefire Violations
Despite the ceasefire agreement coming into effect on October 11, 2025, field data indicates the continuation of Israeli violations at an almost daily rate.
According to the Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs since the signing of the agreement has reached 612, in addition to 1,640 wounded, reflecting the ongoing military operations against civilians in various parts of the Gaza Strip.
In this context, three Palestinian citizens were wounded this morning by Israeli fire targeting civilians on Omar al-Mukhtar Street in Gaza City, in yet another incident confirming the continued targeting of civilians in populated areas. Raids, Bombardment, and Military Expansion in the Gaza Strip
On the ground, the Israeli army continued its military operations in various parts of Gaza. Its aircraft launched two airstrikes east of Khan Younis, coinciding with heavy gunfire from enemy vehicles in the surrounding area, in addition to gunfire north of Gaza City.
In a dangerous development, the Palestinian NGO Network in Gaza reported that the Israeli army continues to impose its control over approximately 60% of the Gaza Strip, expanding the so-called “Yellow Line” towards residential areas. This threatens further forced displacement and undermines any real chances for stability or a return to normalcy in the Strip.
A Humanitarian Situation Worsens Daily
These developments reflect that Gaza remains under the weight of an open war, where direct killings are intertwined with policies of military expansion and humanitarian pressure. Meanwhile, the population faces catastrophic living and health conditions, amidst a severe shortage of basic services and the ongoing siege.
As the death toll rises day after day, the most pressing question remains: how long will this situation continue amidst widespread international silence and a clear inability to stop the ongoing crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip?
