Supreme Political Council Condemns Martyrdom of Sayyed Khamenei, Offers Condolences to Iran

The Supreme Political Council expressed deep condolences to the leadership and people of Iran following the martyrdom of Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. In an official statement, the council described Sayyed Khamenei as a longstanding champion of the Islamic cause and a steadfast supporter of Palestinian and regional resistance against the Zionist entity and the United States.

The council affirmed that Sayyed Khamenei’s martyrdom will strengthen the resolve of the Iranian people and ensure the continuity of the path of jihad and defense of justice. “The message of the martyr will remain a guiding light for future generations,” the statement read.

Condemning the act as a “heinous crime” carried out by aggressors from the United States and the Zionist entity, the council highlighted that it violates international law and reflects ongoing attacks against the Islamic nation and its sacred values. The statement stressed that the martyrdom of leaders like Sayyed Khamenei reinforces revolutionary determination and will continue to inspire believers to confront tyranny and oppression, asserting that the pursuit of dignity and resistance will persist until victory is achieved.

Sayyed Khamenei served as Iran’s Supreme Leader for decades, following the founding of the Islamic Republic by Imam Khomeini in 1979. He played a pivotal role in shaping Iran’s domestic governance, regional policies, and support for Palestinian and regional resistance movements.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is structured around a network of institutions—including the Assembly of Experts, the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the National Security Council, and the Expediency Discernment Council—that ensure political continuity and stability. Despite external pressures, these institutions provide resilience against attempts to destabilize the country.

The martyrdom of Sayyed Khamenei represents both a symbolic and strategic blow; however, Iran’s institutional strength, popular support, and established military capabilities will sustain its influence and strategic objectives in the region.
