Tehran Rejects “Temporary Truce”… Colonel Zolfaghari Reveals Conditions for Ending the War

Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, revealed Tehran’s rejection of the American offer of a 45-day temporary truce. He emphasized that the Iranian response stressed the necessity of a permanent end to the war based on clear conditions.

In a statement published on the “X” platform, Zolfaghari explained that Iran’s response to the American proposal consisted of ten comprehensive points. These included an explicit rejection of any formula for a temporary ceasefire, while simultaneously emphasizing the need for a comprehensive and permanent end to the war, taking into account a number of Iranian observations and demands.

He indicated that the Iranian response included fundamental demands, foremost among them ending the wars in the region, establishing a protocol guaranteeing safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, lifting the imposed sanctions, and commencing reconstruction. This reflects Tehran’s vision of addressing the root causes of the escalation, rather than merely managing it temporarily.

Zulfiqari indicated that this stance follows recent developments on the ground in western and central Iran over the past two days, including the resounding failure of the American landing attempts, which has reinforced Tehran’s position rejecting any partial or interim solutions.

This statement comes in the context of the ongoing American-Zionist aggression against Iran since late February, which has targeted civilian and service facilities and resulted in hundreds of casualties. Tehran responded by launching Operation “True Promise 4,” which targeted American and Israeli military objectives in the region, as part of establishing new deterrent equations.
