April 12th: The Bloody Memory of Yemen Reveals the Brutality and Ongoing Crimes of the US-Saudi-Emirati Aggression

On this day each year, the memory of Yemen is renewed with scenes of pain and loss, and bloody chapters of the crimes of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression, which targeted the Yemeni people, their lives, security, and livelihoods, are revealed.

April 12th is not just a passing date, but an annual milestone marked by violations that have targeted residential areas, airports, farms, and infrastructure, in a systematic manner that reflects the nature of this aggression and its destructive objectives against the steadfast Yemeni people.

Throughout the years of aggression, the same scene repeats itself: airstrikes targeting civilians, indiscriminate shelling of villages and markets, and crimes that make no distinction between children and women, or between civilian and military facilities, in flagrant violation of all international laws and norms.

2015: Massacre of the Marginalized in Taiz and Targeting of Sa’dah

On April 12, 2015, the aggression’s warplanes committed a horrific crime in the Al-Dhahirah area of ​​Mawiyah district in Taiz governorate, targeting six civilian homes. This resulted in the martyrdom of ten civilians and the injury of ten others, most of whom were children and women from the marginalized community, in a scene that reflects the extent of the deliberate targeting of the most vulnerable groups.

In the same context, the enemy aircraft launched several raids on the security administration building in Sa’dah governorate, in addition to targeting a building in Al-Zawiyah village in Al-Safra district, in a clear escalation that targeted both official and civilian facilities.

2016: Targeting of Homes and Airports in Taiz

On April 12, 2016, the aggression continued its crimes by targeting a house in the Al-Dhabab area of ​​Taiz governorate, resulting in the martyrdom of four civilians, including three women, in a new crime that confirms the deliberate targeting of civilians.

The air force also launched two raids on Taiz International Airport, causing significant damage to its facilities. This coincided with a series of raids on various areas in the governorate, as part of a systematic policy to destroy infrastructure.

2017: Widespread Escalation and Targeting of Airports and the Capital

On April 12, 2017, the aggression’s warplanes intensified their raids, targeting Sana’a International Airport and Al-Dailami Air Base, in addition to a raid on the Attan area in the Al-Sabeen district of the capital, Sana’a, which caused damage to civilian homes.

The escalation extended to include 20 raids on the Haradh and Midi districts in Hajjah Governorate, five raids east of Harf Sufyan in Amran, raids on Nihm, and four raids on Hodeidah Airport, in a widespread escalation reflecting the scale and scope of the aggression.

2018: Targeting Farms and Border Villages

On April 12, 2018, the Saudi-led coalition warplanes targeted a farm in Bajil District, Hodeidah Governorate, with four airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of civilians and injuries to others, in a direct attack on civilian livelihoods.

In Saada, a child died from injuries sustained in a Saudi missile attack on Haydan District. Meanwhile, missile and artillery shelling continued in Shada and Razih districts, and multiple airstrikes targeted civilian homes and farms in Baqim, Qahza, and Saada city.

Airstrikes also hit Al-Bayda and Hajjah governorates, targeting civilian farms and residential areas, causing widespread damage. This coincided with artillery shelling by mercenaries in Al-Jawf Governorate.

2019: Targeting Children, Markets, and Farms

On April 12, 2019, a child was killed by artillery shelling from the aggression’s mercenaries targeting civilian farms in the Al-Fazah area of ​​Al-Tuhayta district in Hodeidah, in yet another crime against childhood.

Several areas in Hodeidah were also subjected to similar shelling, while the aggression’s warplanes launched airstrikes on Saada, targeting residential areas, markets, and farms. Rocket and artillery fire also struck the districts of Munabbih, Kataf, and Al-Dhaher, continuing the pattern of directly targeting civilians.

2020: Escalation of Artillery and Rocket Bombardment in Hodeidah and Saada

On April 12, 2020, the aggression’s mercenaries targeted civilian farms and properties in Al-Tuhayta, Ad-Durayhimi city, and several areas in Hodeidah with heavy and medium weapons, in a clear violation of all agreements.

In Saada, rocket and artillery fire targeted populated villages in Razih district, causing widespread property damage.

2021: Victims of Remnants of Aggression and a Widespread Air Escalation

On April 12, 2021, a child was killed and another injured by an explosion of a bomb left over from the aggression in the Majz district of Saada, reflecting the ongoing danger these remnants pose to civilian lives.

Airstrikes targeted Al-Bayda with four raids, Sirwah with 11, and Madghal with three, in addition to nine reconnaissance flights on areas in Hodeidah, marking a significant escalation in airstrikes.

2022: Continued Crimes Through Bombing and War Remnants

On April 12, 2022, two women were injured by an explosion of an object left over from the aggression in the Nihm district, while reconnaissance flights continued on Hodeidah.

Several governorates, including Marib, Al-Dhale’, Al-Bayda, and Hajjah, were subjected to missile and artillery shelling by mercenaries, targeting civilian homes and populated areas.

2023: Escalation of Reconnaissance Airstrikes and Artillery Bombardment

On April 12, 2023, reconnaissance aircraft launched nine airstrikes on the Hays district in Hodeidah, coinciding with heavy artillery shelling and gunfire by mercenaries on various areas. This escalation of violations occurred despite all international calls to end the aggression.
