Dismantling Recruitment Plots: Security Forces Uncover Israeli Intelligence Tools
Security agencies have uncovered several methods used by the Israeli enemy to recruit agents and gather information.
The following is the text of the statement:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
An explanatory statement regarding the recruitment methods, mechanisms, and means of gathering information used by Israeli intelligence, based on the testimonies of individuals involved in espionage with the Israeli enemy.
God Almighty says: “And they plot, and God plots, and God is the best of plotters.” (Quran 8:30)
As part of God’s blessings upon the Yemeni people and their security forces, in uncovering and thwarting the plans and agendas of the Israeli enemy—including the recent announcement of the arrest of several individuals who worked directly with Israeli intelligence—it has become clear to the security agencies that the Israeli enemy has made numerous attempts to recruit members of our people and gather information with the aim of harming Yemen and its pivotal role in the region.
Many recruitment attempts failed in their early stages, encountering resistance from the public. Several other attempts also failed later when those involved realized they were communicating with the Israeli enemy. Security services have thwarted the enemy’s efforts by arresting a number of its operatives, and they continue to pursue the remaining members.
As part of the security services’ efforts to raise public awareness, we are revealing several of the Israeli enemy’s recruitment methods and intelligence-gathering mechanisms.
First: Recruitment and Enticement Methods:
Financial inducements are offered through paid online advertisements, social media platforms, and certain games. These inducements aim to convince targets that affiliation with Israeli intelligence guarantees their future and a safe life. They are then directed to communicate through the official websites of Israeli intelligence agencies.
Luring job seekers through advertisements on specialized websites and online companies, reviewing their resumes, contacting them, and subjecting them to acceptance tests that gradually escalate until they reach requests for security-related information.
Exploiting victims of soft warfare by manipulating their inclinations towards deviant ideologies to serve the Israeli enemy’s agenda of severing the Yemeni people’s connection to their faith-based identity and discouraging society from supporting the nation’s causes through organized psychological campaigns aimed at eradicating hostility towards the Israeli enemy under misleading pretenses.
Morally corrupting the target to facilitate their compliance with any task requested by Israeli intelligence, threatening to release photos and videos of the victim if they refuse.
Contacting some members of society directly or through Arab or Western intelligence agencies or intermediaries to gather security, military, and political information that affects the country’s national security. In some of the contacts made by Israeli intelligence officers, they attempt to intimidate the target by implying they already possess extensive personal details.
Social media influencers affiliated with Israeli intelligence, trained in the Yemeni dialect, establish relationships with Yemenis under the guise of discussing various Yemeni customs, traditions, and arts, claiming to be preserving them. Later, some of these influencers solicit information from their followers about the locations and residences of national leaders in Sana’a in exchange for money.
Secondly: Methods and Means of Information Gathering:
Surveys and field surveys conducted through profitable online platforms and applications to gather seemingly personal information related to income levels and dietary needs. This progresses to direct surveys and contact with targeted individuals to collect information on economic, security, service, and political matters, ultimately reaching sensitive information related to security and military affairs that threaten national security.
Personal relationships were cultivated through social media platforms with trained individuals fluent in various Arabic dialects. These individuals were approached with attractive titles suggesting their involvement in supporting the Palestinian cause and Yemen’s stance on issues affecting the Arab world. In some cases, non-Arab foreigners were used to lure individuals to travel abroad and then directly recruit them.
Interviews were conducted with the target under the guise of international organizations and media outlets to gather detailed information on various aspects, including medical, economic, and military facilities. The target was led to believe that their answers would lead to improvements in aid, services, and living conditions. Some of these interviews were conducted through intermediaries under the guise of journalism.
These conversations were then used to guide recruits to collaborate with the Israeli enemy to gather information about the country’s leadership and its economic, political, social, security, and military situation.
In conclusion, we assure our great Yemeni people that the security services will remain loyal to them and will be at the forefront of protecting the home front. They will work diligently to firmly confront the enemy’s schemes and those of its agents, which target our Yemeni people, given their supportive role for the Palestinian cause and the issues of the Islamic nation, and in standing against the Zionist scheme called “Greater Israel.” We also value and appreciate the cooperation, vigilance, and awareness of the dear, struggling Yemeni people, which played a prominent role in thwarting and foiling the enemy’s plans by reporting them. The security services also call on anyone involved in any kind of communication with the Israeli enemy, directly or through intermediaries, to report this to the security services’ reporting numbers.
