The September 21 Revolution: A Path of Solidarity… 268 Surgeries Restore Sight to Eye Patients in Amran

In a living embodiment of the humanitarian approach established by the September 21 Revolution, health initiatives continue, aiming to alleviate the suffering of citizens, especially in rural and remote areas. Here, the principles of social solidarity are transformed into tangible actions that restore hope and directly address people’s needs.

These efforts stand out as one of the most important features of the shift towards prioritizing human beings as the focus of development and the foundation of stability.

268 Surgeries
The Al-Qafala Central Hospital in the Qafleh Adhar district of Amran Governorate witnessed the implementation of the 72nd free medical camp for ophthalmology, which resulted in 268 cataract surgeries performed over five days. This achievement reflects the high level of organization, medical preparedness, and the ability of healthcare professionals to perform specialized interventions in record time.

The camp was implemented through the efforts of the Healthcare Association for Affected Communities, with support from the General Authority for Zakat, as part of expanding the scope of free medical services and providing healthcare to those unable to access treatment due to economic circumstances.

More than a thousand beneficiaries
The camp’s services were not limited to surgical operations, but also included providing examinations, consultations, and treatments for 1,013 patients, most of whom were from poor and needy families. This reflects the significant demand for such humanitarian initiatives.

This number underscores the growing need for specialized medical services in rural areas and the importance of continuing medical camps to bridge the healthcare gap and alleviate the burden on citizens.

Humanitarian partnership and integration
The implementation of the camp represented a practical model of integrated efforts between health, official, and community entities, within an effective coordination framework that contributes to expanding the circle of beneficiaries and achieving a greater impact at the community level.

This initiative also reflects a clear trend towards consolidating the values of solidarity and benevolence, transforming them into practical programs targeting the most vulnerable groups, thus strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing the spirit of solidarity.

A Continuous Approach to Serving Humanity

This camp represents an extension of a comprehensive humanitarian approach that prioritizes human beings and affirms that healthcare has become an essential part of the path to building and development. Such initiatives are not limited to providing treatment; they also contribute to restoring hope, improving quality of life, and strengthening social stability, especially in light of the challenges facing local communities.

The Revolution in its Human Dimension
What has been achieved in Qafleh Adhar in Amran Governorate clearly reflects that the September 21 Revolution was not limited to bringing about political change alone, but its effects have extended to various aspects, foremost among them humanitarianism, through practical initiatives that enhance human dignity and translate the values of solidarity into tangible reality.

Thus, these efforts continue to shape a phase characterized by giving, centered on serving humanity, and aimed at building a more cohesive and united society.
