The Israeli occupation authorities have cancelled public events and gatherings in cities in northern occupied Palestine, including Nahariya and the Upper Galilee, based on security recommendations due to fears of Hezbollah missiles.
The Upper Galilee Regional Council announced the cancellation of the farmers’ market in the “Agmon Hula” area, justifying the decision with security assessments warning of potential risks as a result of the existing tension.
In the same context, the Nahariya municipality informed the settlers that the Northern Command had cancelled the exceptions that allowed for public events to be held, stressing that the instructions issued by the Home Front Command remain in effect without change.
Israeli military analyst Yossi Yehoshua also revealed that the mayor of Nahariya, Ronen Marli, made the decision to cancel all public events in the city under direct orders from the occupation army, amid expectations of a response from the Islamic resistance to the recent aggression that targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut and resulted in martyrs and wounded.
This development comes at a time when the occupation continues to violate the temporary ceasefire with Lebanon, signed in mid-April, reflecting the fragility of the existing truce and growing fears of a new escalation on the northern border.
